"Sunny Side Up"

The colors in this piece are inspired by the eggs we used to dye for Easter. Each egg would be wrapped in onion skin, with bits of tissue paper and scraps of old silk tucked inside. After tying it all together with yarn and boiling it, you’d unwrap it to reveal the unexpected patterns and colors.

The onion skins created a range of warm yellows, reds, pinks, and browns that influenced this work.
